Legalization of work

Legalization of work is a prerequisite that must be fulfilled by any person coming from outside the EU and wants to work in Poland. At present, several types of work permits are available, depending on the nature of the work performed and the employing entity:

  • type A – for foreigners planning to work in the Republic of Poland pursuant to a contract entered into with a company whose registered office, place of residence, branch, plant or other form of organized activity is located in the Republic of Poland;
  • type B – for foreigners planning to perform work serving on the management board of a legal entity entered in the register of entrepreneurs or being a corporate entity in organization;
  • type C – for foreigners performing work for a foreign employer and delegated to the Republic of Poland for a period exceeding 30 days in a calendar year, to a branch or plant of a foreign entity or a related entity;
  • type D – for foreigners performing work for a foreign employer without a branch, plant or organized activity in the Republic of Poland and delegated to the Republic of Poland for the purpose of providing services of a temporary and occasional nature;
  • type E – for foreigners performing work for a foreign employer and delegated to the Republic of Poland for a period exceeding 3 months in the next 6 months, for a purpose other than those indicated in types B, C, D.
